Pregnancy Classes at The Pelvic Studio

At The Pelvic Studio, we’re strong advocates for exercise during pregnancy and we’re here to support you through this journey.

Our Pregnancy Group Pilates/Exercise Classes are designed to help you feel strong, supported, and confident at every stage of your pregnancy, from your first trimester through to the final weeks.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) recommends muscle strengthening exercise at least 2 days per week (on non-consecutive days).

Pregnancy Pilates/Exercise Classes:

Our dedicated Pregnancy Classes create a special sense of community, bringing together mums-to-be in a welcoming and encouraging environment. We are now offering our classes in 6-week terms, allowing you to build consistency, see progress, and feel fully supported throughout your pregnancy.

Each class includes 8–10 participants and is guided by our expert team. Across the term, you’ll be taken through:

  • A guided warm-up including pelvic floor training

  • A series of structured exercise “pods”

  • Reformer Pilates exercises

  • A group mat-based Pilates series

You’ll also receive a Prenatal Care eBook, covering:

  • Pelvic floor and core training in pregnancy

  • Managing pelvic girdle pain

  • Labour preparation and positioning

  • And more

Term Structure & Booking

Our pregnancy classes are designed to be completed as a 6-week term, giving you the best opportunity to build strength, confidence, and continuity in your care.

We recommend attending at least 1–2 classes per week, in line with RANZCOG guidelines for strength training during pregnancy.

Casual sessions are available if needed, but priority is given to term-based bookings to maintain consistency, progression, and class flow.

  • Connect with your pelvic floor

  • Use breath and movement strategies for labour

  • Support your body for postpartum recovery

Think of this as more than just exercise, it’s guided preparation for pregnancy, birth, and recovery.



Small Group Classes

We also offer Small Group Classes, which are more intimate and allow for greater individual attention.

These sessions are open to all clients (not just pregnancy), but still include the same high-quality education and exercise principles. They are scheduled at various times throughout the day, offering more flexibility.

Casual Sessions (limited availability):
$45/session

Invoices are provided for private health claiming, with rebates of up to $25 depending on your fund, and some funds rebating the full cost of classes depending on your cover.

Pre-Class Requirements

In order to attend our classes we recommend a prenatal assessment with one of our pelvic floor physiotherapists, or exercise clearance from your anetenatal team. We strongly believe an assessment is a ‘standard’ part of antenatal care. In other words, we believe all pregnant people should have a pelvic assessment at some point in their pregnancy - preferably in the early stages from 12 weeks onwards - irrespective of whether you experience any issues or dysfunction. This assessment is to prevent rather than treat the common issues that occur during and after pregnancy.
