POSTNATAL EXERCISE AND PILATES CLASSES
Life as a new mum can feel beautifully chaotic.
Between feeding, sleep, routines, and an overwhelming amount of information, it’s easy for your own recovery to fall to the bottom of the list. Knowing what to do — and when — can feel confusing.
At The Pelvic Studio, our postnatal classes are designed to take the guesswork out of your return to exercise, supporting you safely from early recovery through to feeling strong, capable, and confident again.
Whether its a Small Group class or Mums and Bubs specific, all of our classes are 100% baby friendly, and it is our pleasure to help out with settling, entertaining and integrating bub into class wherever possible.
A Different Approach to Postnatal Exercise
Our classes are specifically designed to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and fitness — so you’re not left wondering if you’re doing too much, or not enough.
Expert-Led, Postnatal-Specific Care
Every class is guided by a physiotherapist with expertise in postnatal recovery. We focus on pelvic floor and core rehabilitation, while safely progressing your strength and fitness over time.
A Supportive Mum Community
You’ll be surrounded by other mums navigating the same stage of life in a welcoming, understanding space where you can move your body and feel supported.
Completely Baby-Friendly
All of our classes are 100% baby-friendly. Whether your bub is sleeping, feeding, needing a cuddle or a bounce, they are always welcome. We’re more than happy to help settle, entertain, and integrate your baby into class where we can.
Flexible, No-Term Structure
Unlike our pregnancy classes, postnatal classes are designed to be flexible, because we know babies don’t follow schedules. Join when you’re ready, and attend in a way that suits your stage of recovery and routine.

Mums and Bubs Class or Small Group?
Mums and Bubs
Our Mums & Bubs classes (6–10 participants) are the perfect place to begin — or continue — your return to exercise at any stage postpartum.
These sessions guide you through a progressive exercise program, helping you rebuild strength, confidence, and capacity in a safe and supportive way.
Across your sessions, you’ll learn:
How to reconnect with your pelvic floor and core
Safe progressions for strength and impact exercise
How to manage common postnatal aches and pains (feeding, carrying, posture)
When and how to return to higher intensity exercise
You’ll also gain practical exercises you can confidently continue at home or in the gym — with or without your bub.
Beyond the physical benefits, these classes often become a highlight of the week — a chance to connect, move, and share the experience with other mums (and often grab a coffee together afterwards!).
Suitable from 6 weeks postnatal onwards, however we are very much pro-movement — if you’re unsure where to start, our team can guide you based on your individual recovery.
Small Group
If our postnatal timetable doesn’t suit your routine, our Small Group Classes are available daily.
These sessions offer a more flexible, personalised training environment while still incorporating the same postnatal-safe principles and physio guidance.
While open to all clients, they remain completely baby-friendly and can be tailored to your individual needs and recovery stage.

Pre-Class Requirements
We advise coming in to see one of our pelvic physiotherapists for a six-week postnatal check. TPS strongly believes that a 6-week postnatal check should be standard care. In other words, all those who’ve given birth should have a thorough pelvic assessment regardless of the presence or absence of a postnatal issue. Although an early postnatal check is ideal, even if your children are all grown up, it’s never too late for an assessment.
Private health rebates apply and often range between $10-$25 per class, and in some cases up to the full class cost.
